During her three years as Glen Rock High School’s premier distance runner, Tracy Della Torre broke and established new records in numerous different events.
As the backbone of an exceptional Cross-Country Team, she won the BPSL Championship as a sophomore and junior and finished second at the BPSL Championship as a senior. At the County Championship, she finished #1 in the Group 1 Championship as a sophomore and senior and #5 in the Group 2 Championship as a junior. At the State Sectional Championship, she finished #1 in the Group 1 Championship as a sophomore and #2 in the Group 1 Championship as a senior. Finally, at the State Championship, she finished #2 in the Group 1 Championship as a sophomore and again as a senior. Tracy held the school’s record for all of the major Cross Country courses when she graduated.
As a Track Athlete she graduated holding school records in the 800, the 1600 and the 3200 meters. She was a member of several record-breaking Relay Teams, including the 4×800, the 4×1600, the Distance Medley and the Sprint Medley. Tracy and 2012 Hall of Fame Inductee Kate Hanley led the Panthers to the Group 1 State Sectional Championship as a sophomore, winning the 800 and 1600 and placing 3rd in the 3200.
Tracy’s Individual honors included 8 BPSL, 8 Group County and 7 Group State Sectional Championships in the 800, 1600 and 3200. And she had some great performances at the BMOC with 2nd and 4th place finishes in the 800 and a 5th in the 3200.
Tracy attended Franklin College in Lugano, Switzerland where she captained the Varsity Soccer Team. She also spent a semester travelling in Kenya. She is currently a VP, Campaign Director at the Ad Council where she has led several award-winning Public Service Ad campaigns.
Tracy and husband Stefan live in Manhattan with their infant daughter Ivy. Ivy has heard all about mom’s running career.
