Phil Tortoreti

Phil was an outstanding three sport athlete at Glen Rock High School: football, basketball, and baseball.

On the gridiron, Phil was the starting quarterback and also played defensive back for two years. He was the punter and ran back kick-offs and punts both years. Phil served as captain his senior year and he received All-League, All-Suburban, All-County, and All-State recognition for his outstanding play.

In hoops, playing for Hall of Fame Coach Cardy Gemma, Phil started both as a junior and senior and was captain in his senior year. He received All-League, All-Suburban, and All-County honors.

On the baseball diamond Phil won three varsity letters as an infielder, outfielder and sometimes pitcher for Hall of Fame Coach Carl Zaisser. Again, he received All-League, All-Suburban and All-County honors.

After graduating from Glen Rock High School, Phil played football at Albright College where he was a defensive back and returned punts.

Phil lives in West Orange, NJ, with his wife of 36 years – Nancy. The Tortoretis have two adult children—Sarah and Matthew. Phil is a Shareholder in the Wilentz, Goldman & Spitzer law firm in Woodbridge, NJ. Since his children were very athletic, Phil spent over 18 years coaching and running youth sports programs in West Orange, including two years as president of MountainTop League in West Orange. He now tries to find time to play golf.
