Kate van Keuren Blair

Kate was named Glen Rock High School 1987 Athlete of the Year. Kate was the starting center halfback for four years with the Glen Rock soccer team. She was the captain in 1987. While playing for Coach Ed Troy, she led the team to three league championships and two state championships. Kate was a three-time All-League player, three time All-County player, and two time All-State player.

Kate was the point guard for four years with the basketball team, coached by Cardy Gemma for two years and Sharon Iacono for two years. She was selected captain in both her junior and senior years. The basketball team won two league championships during that time. Kate was selected All-League three times and All-County twice.

Kate contributed greatly to Coach Art Erickson’s Glen Rock High School softball program. She was the shortstop for four years and served as captain in her senior year. Playing for coach Art Erickson, she was All-League three years and All-County for two years.

Kate continued in her athletic endeavors while at Tufts University. She played both Soccer and softball – lettering four years in each sport. Tufts won the NIAC championship when she was a sophomore. Kate was named All-New England three times and was selected captain in her senior year. Kate was a pitcher and shortstop for the Tufts softball team. In her freshman year, she pitched a record 111 innings and pitched back-to-back no-hitters. The softball team won the NIAC championship in 1988, were runners-up in 1989, and won the NESCAC championship in 1991.

Kate and her husband David have three boys and live in Massachusetts.
