The ’84 Girls Varsity Soccer Team started the year with a lot of question marks. There were some veteran players, a large group of newcomers, and a new coach with a new system of play. During the preseason the girls surprised everyone and quickly came together as a team and posted a school record 19‐2‐2 season.
The season earned the team: BPSL Championship, North I Division B State Sectional Championship, and the North I Division B State Co-Championship, It also earned them the Number 1 Ranking in the Bergen County (I-II) Coaches’ Poll and a spot in the Star Ledger Top 20 Poll. All were school records for Girls Varsity Soccer. The team also set school records for: Most Shutouts in single season: 14 Most Goals Scored single season : 71 Fewest Goals Allowed single season: 17 The 1984 team set a standard that became a goal for all succeeding Glen Rock Girls Soccer Teams. It truly was a team to be remembered.
