Ed Troy was one of the most prolific coaches and teachers in the history of Glen Rock High School.
Girls’ soccer blossomed under Coach Troy recording a record of 131-19-7 and winning four league, six state sectional and two state group championships, as well as two state group co-championships. The girls were also recognized as Group 1-2 Team of the Year in Bergen County three times under Coach Troy.
Boys’ soccer also benefitted from Ed’s leadership, winning two league and two state sectional championships and recognition as the Group 1-2 Team of the Year in Bergen County.
Ed is a graduate of Pope Pius XII H.S. in Passaic and Montclair State College where he earned both a B.A. and M.A.in science. He taught at Glen Rock High School for 40 years and his excellence as a teacher was recognized as a recipient of both the Governor’s Award for Outstanding Teaching and the Bob Ax Award.
A lifelong resident of Bergen County, Ed lives in Ridgewood with his wife Carole whom he met while teaching in Glen Rock. The Troys have two sons – Ed and Matt, married to Jessica and Aimee; and four grandchildren – Bode, Kellan , Jillian and Declan.
