Dave Percival

Dave Percival was one of the most exceptional three sport athletes in school history and a key part of the Hall of Fame 1960 football team that put Glen Rock High School sports on the map.

Dave played for three Hall of Fame coaches – Mickey Smith (football), Carl Zaisser (baseball) and Cardy Gemma (basketball). Remarkably, he was selected as All-Conference, All-Suburban, All-County and All-State in each sport, and was selected for the SPORTING NEWS ALL-AMERICAN TEAM in football.

Dave really shone on the gridiron as a senior and was the leading scorer in Bergen County with 89 points. He also led the basketball team to a state sectional championship.

Beyond Glen Rock, Dave attended Marietta College in Ohio where he lettered in football and baseball. He finished his education at Michigan State where he also played baseball.

A career in education followed college. Dave taught, coached (football, basketball) and was an athletic director and principal in Michigan for 44 years.

Dave and his wife Laura live in Michigan and have eight children (three of whom are still at home): Janice, Michelle, Andy, Nicole, Kyle, Katy, Claire and Matt.
