Bill DeBoer was an exceptional performer in both track & field and wrestling and one of the school’s most outstanding multi-sport athletes in the decade of the 1960’s. He was also voted Senior Athlete of the Year.
As a Junior Bill threw the shot more than 57 feet to set a school record that still stands 45 years later.
Bill was a tour-de-force as a wrestler winning the district championship and making it to the regional final in his senior year.
Although recollections are hazy, Bill decided to try baseball as a senior and is purported to have hit one and maybe two home runs on to the roof of the school.
