2000 Girls’ Tennis Team

The 2000 Girls’ Tennis Team captured the first Girls’ Tennis Team State Championship in Glen Rock High School’s history.

After Title Nine ushered in girls’ sports in June of 1972, it did not take long for the Glen Rock Girls’ Tennis program to become successful.

Before 2000, Glen Rock had won two Bergen County Team Championships and eight State Sectional Championships, including having been the runner-up in the 1981 Group 1, State Championship. The Panthers were League Champions almost every year in that stretch.

The 2000 season saw the Panthers achieve a record of 20-1. They went on to win the County (Groups 1 and 2), State Sectional (Group 1) and State (Group 1) Championships. For their achievements The Record named them Team of the Year.

The team was led by 2016 Hall of Fame Inductee, Gabby Pasternak, and the Doubles Team of Karen Dilsizian and Alyssa Rosenbluth. Glen Rock repeated as State Champions in 2001.
